Singer Chloë Agnew, daughter of Twink

CELTIC Woman star Chloë Agnew -- daughter of iconic screen-star Adele King, better known as Twink -- is relaxing after a hectic two days filming at Wicklow's Powerscourt Estate.

The 20-year old Dubliner was joined by her co-stars, vocalists Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly, Alex Sharpe and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt, to record a new special to be aired on PBS television.

The footage will also be used for Celtic Woman's Isle of Hope DVD, which will hit the shelves in the coming months.

To mark the occasion, the girls invited family and friends to watch the one-off performance at Powerscourt on Thursday evening.

Mum Twink, who attended along with her youngest daughter Naomi, said she had thoroughly enjoyed it and was extremely proud of the singer.

Thrilled

"They're fantastic," she said. "I'm so delighted for them because they're doing really well all over the world.

"They're just back from the States and they were also in Japan and China and are huge in both places.

"They were also on Dancing With The Stars with Natasha Bedingfield, which got 27m viewers, so I'm thrilled for them.

"I've only gotten to see Chloë for a few days because they've been so busy meeting with their EMI people, doing all their television stuff and getting ready for the show in Powerscourt," she added.

Chloë said that she and her co-stars got on like a house on fire and claimed there were never any arguments between the fivesome.

She said: "I think people are always looking for a Desperate Housewives story, that they all hate each other and nobody actually gets along. It's all for show.

"The reality is we do all get along. The five of us are like sisters, best friends," she added.

Her co-star Máiréad described their shoot in Powerscourt as one of their best yet.

"It is incredible to be able to film the DVD in a place of such incredible beauty and history dating back to 1731," she said. "It is indeed a treasure and we feel very lucky to be able to perform there.

The group is due to jet off abroad for more work commitments next week.

However, Chloë is hoping to make it to the opening night of her mum's new play, Dirty Dusting, at the Olympia theatre next Tuesday.
