Celtic Woman features, from left, Máiréad Nesbitt, Lisa Kelly (who was on maternity leave and didn't appear in the Manchester performance), Chloë Agnew, Ória Fallon, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe, the group's newest member.

Celtic Woman, an international Irish music sensation, brought its 60-date tour to the Granite State with a 7:30 p.m. concert Friday, March 21, at the Verizon Wireless Arena in downtown Manchester.

Highlights of the group's three-month tour include multiple nights in New York City, Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco, in addition to stops in 45 cities. Performances will include selections from both of the group's platinum albums, "Celtic Woman" and "A New Journey."

For its 2008 tour, Celtic Woman returns with Máiréad Nesbitt, Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe, the group's newest member. Vocalist Lisa Kelly was on maternity leave and didn't appear in the Queen city performance.

This was the fifth U.S. tour for the multi-platinum-selling group, which most recently released the holiday disc titled "A Christmas Celebration Live From Dublin." The performance featured on the DVD aired on PBS during the stations December 2007 pledge drive. This followed 2006's hit holiday album "A Christmas Celebration," which has shipped more than 500,000 copies and is awaiting gold certification.

Celtic Woman has been winning over audiences worldwide since its March 2005 debut. The group's popularity in the United States was fueled in part by its first PBS special, which has aired more than 3,400 times on 316 PBS stations to date.

Celtic woman's self-titled CD and DVD have been certified platinum, 2006's "A New Journey: Live From Slane Castle, Ireland" DVD has been certified double platinum, and "A New Journey" CD is certified gold and awaiting platinum certification. As a result, Celtic Woman commanded the No. 1 spot on the Billboard World Music chart for more than 90 consecutive weeks.

Tickets range from $37.50 to $55. For availability visit the venue's Elm Street box office, log onto Ticketmaster.com or call 868-7300.
