Celtic Woman, the Emmy-nominated all-woman band from Ireland, will kick off Henderson Pavilion's fall concert season Sunday .

The quartet, popular for its original music as well as its take on traditional Irish and Celtic songs, will sweep through Henderson on the last leg of its "Songs from the Heart" tour. The title refers to their selection of music, all songs that hold special meaning for the women, says violinist Máiréad Nesbitt .

This marks the group's 10th tour of the States and won't be its first trip to the valley. The band is looking forward to it, Nesbitt says.

"The audiences are amazing, they're so supportive," she says during a recent phone interview. "We have a fantastic fan base in the States."

Since the group formed five years ago, Celtic Woman has released five albums and sold more than 5 million records. Two of the albums, including the recent release "Songs from the Heart," reached the Top 10 on the Billboard charts. A companion DVD of a live concert debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Music DVD chart.

Their success stems from the band's hard work, Nesbitt says, and the universal appeal of Irish and Celtic music.

"I do think that the melodies are very accessible to people and they can identify with them," Nesbitt says. "It takes them on a journey."
