According to Arthurian legend, Guinevere rode out on an early Beltaine morn to get wildflowers and greenery. She is an aspect of the flower maiden, and embodies the soverignty of Britain. No king could rule without her. Serve this in a bowl decorated in flowers.

1 quart of red grape juice
4 tablespoons of sugar
40 mint leaves
1 quart of red wine
1 quart of strong tea, cooled
the juice of 3 lemons
any of the edible flowers such as marigolds, nasturtiums, primroses, pansies, borage, apple and orange blossoms.

Heat grape juice with sugar until sugar has dissolved. Add mint leaves and flowers and steep overnight. Strain liquid, discard leaves and flowers and add wine, tea, and lemon juice and chill for 2 hours.
